Giving Tuesday 2024
02.12.2024
Giving Tuesday, established in 2012, is a special day dedicated to doing good and giving back. What began as a simple idea—a day to support charities and organisations making a difference—has grown over the past decade into a worldwide movement of generosity and kindness.
How can I support Carers Count Kirklees this Giving Tuesday?
In Kirklees, around 42,000 people care for a loved one who is ill, frail, or disabled. These unpaid carers offer their time, energy, and love, with many providing care for more than 35 hours a week. While many find this role fulfilling, it can also be exhausting.
Your generosity can help these carers take a well-deserved break, recharge, and focus on their own wellbeing. You’ll also be supporting opportunities for carers to develop new skills that could improve their lives or the lives of those they care for.
-
£2 provides a carer with a cup of tea or coffee at one of our wellbeing groups, offering a small but meaningful moment to relax and unwind.
-
£5 helps fund materials and supplies for our weekly groups, reducing financial pressures while giving carers a chance to relax and improve their mental health through creative activities.
-
£10 allows two carers to attend a wellbeing session, helping them maintain their own health so they can continue to care for their loved ones.
