Walking for Carers 2021

Making Carers Visible and Valued!

As part of our planned activities to support carers as the country emerged from the national lockdown, we organised a virtual walk around Lancashire and Yorkshire throughout May. Encouraging carers and staff to get outside for their mental and physical wellbeing, our planned route covered 527 miles across 27 stages and took us to 45 places of interest across the region.

We garnered fantastic support for the fundraising event with 53 people taking part – 18 carers and 35 Cloverleaf staff. Together we covered an incredible 927 miles and managed to raise £560 towards the cost of a sanctuary day for our carers.

The activity also helped us to raise awareness of unpaid carers leading up to Carers Week 2021 with our supporting social media campaign across Instagram, YouTube and Facebook.

Walking for carers 2021

Let's Get Social!

We know that the pandemic has proven to be an extremely challenging time for our carers, so we were pleased that this walking tour enabled us to raise some money for a relaxing sanctuary day for carers from all of our services to enjoy. All donations received will go towards the cost of the day and, hopefully, we will have reached our goal of raising awareness for carers while coming together to take on this fun challenge.

As a registered charity, we are always grateful for any donations made to help us to deliver more events and support to our carers. If you would like to make a donation to Carers Count at any time, we would kindly refer you to our Go Fund Me page via the link below.
